What is HBOT

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)  is a treatment in which a patient  breathes 100% oxygen intermittently while inside a treatment chamber at a pressure higher than sea level pressure  ( > 1.4 ATA).

How does it work?

HBOT is a safe, non-invasive and effective treatment that boosts the body’s natural ability to heal.

HBOT depends on two physics laws:

  • Boyle’s Law: Pressure allows more oxygen in the lungs, thus increasing the amount of oxygen going to plasma.
  • Henry’s law: Pressure increases solubility in plasma, thus increasing the amount of oxygen in tissues.

What are the conditions treated by HBOT?

  • Emergency medicine – HBOT is the only treatment
    • Decompression sickness/Diving accidents.
    • Carbon monoxide poisoning.
    • Any condition that causes brain hypoxia.
  • Primary adjunctive therapy
    • Anti-aging.
    • Weight loss and body shaping clinic.
    • Men’s sexual health.
    • Rehabilitation clinic (stroke/brain damage, etc).
    • Sports injury.
    • Air or gas embolism.
    • Carbon monoxide poisoning.
    • Enhancement of healing in diabetically derived illness such as diabetic foot, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy.
    • Exceptional blood loss (anemia).
